What is eastghost.com ?

This site exists for sharing experiences, pictures, findings, event announcements, questions and information.

It's meant to be valuable to you, to increase your enjoyment and fulfillment, knowledge and understanding, to help you share your experience and find your truth. The point is not necessarily about "proof", it's about experience and evidence, documentation and making and keeping connections.

Through sharing what we know all may benefit. We strive for excellence in all things and welcome compatible individuals and groups at any level.

"We wish to pursue Truth no matter where it leads. But, to find Truth we need imagination and skepticism, both. We will not be afraid to speculate, but we will be careful to distinguish speculation from fact." --Carl Sagan

"Death is the great Teacher, stern, cold, inexorable, irresistible; whom the collected might of the world cannot stay or ward off. The breath, that parting from the lips of King or beggar, scarcely stirs the hushed air, cannot be bought, or brought back for a moment, with the wealth of Empires. What a lesson is this, teaching our frailty and feebleness, and an Infinite Power beyond us! It is a fearful lesson, that never becomes familiar. It walks through the earth in dread mystery, and lays it hands upon all. It is a universal lesson, that is read everywhere and by all men. Its message comes every year and every day. The past years are crowded with its sad and solemn mementoes; and death's finger traces its handwriting upon the walls of every human habitation." --Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma

Haunts Database

St. John's Rectory Hall

BRIEF: An old gem literally in the backyards of homes in a new development

SUMMARY: Cozy interior and excellence throughout are a hallmark of this old structure.

Cape Henlopen State Park

BRIEF: An Indian curse for crashing.

SUMMARY: The Park is haunted by a strange ghost light. People in boats have sometimes mistaken the ghost light for a lighthouse. There is a legend that goes with the ghost light. The legend is about Indians placing a curse upon the English: to make their ships crash upon the shore. Subsequently, there have been a number of ships which have crashed on the shore. The British sloop, the Daybreak, reportedly crashed because of this ghost light.

Odd things happening in Turnquist neigborhood of Elkton, MD

BRIEF: Odd things happening in Turnquist neighborhood of Elkton, MD

SUMMARY: On Delancy Road, just off Rt. 40 at the Delaware/Maryland line, is a neighborhood called Turnquist. On December 8, 1963, a plane (Pan American Boeing 707 - Flight 214 - Baltimore to Philadelphia) with 81 passengers was flying over the Maryland/Delaware border when lightning struck the wing and ignited the plane. The plane crashed and the 81 people all died. Their bodies were scattered all over a field on Delancy Road. Turnquist was built on that field, and residents report many strange happenings, noises and sightings. All that remains of the ground where those bodies fell is a remembrance plaque, right next to the sign for the neighborhood.

Lime Quarry and Kiln Works

BRIEF: Do not fall into the water

SUMMARY: Huge. Deep. Still. Not a smart place to fall into. Numerous dilapidated structures on the quiet grounds form an abandoned, sort of business-town. Now privately owned and rotting away into nothingness, this dying place echoes with the clamor and deeds of a bygone era.

"When you get old, the only things you remember are the things you dared to do and the things you didn't dare to do. All the daily stuff, the things you had to do, the things someone paid you to do, blur into the nothingness of 'unimportant to your soul', and when you look back on your life you only see the dreams you made happen and the dreams you were afraid to pursue." --P.J.
