BRIEF: Hotel succumbs, after many guests, to its own negative energies SUMMARY: The first owner of this hotel --built in 1887 and originally named The Vivian Hotel-- reportedly killed himself in room 21. There have been 18 deaths in the time period between 1970 and 2003, when the hotel closed. It was rumored to bring out the worst in people, and those who were mentally weakened presumably came under this influence. BRIEF: Manor house + Civil War = Haunted Manor House SUMMARY: The house was built for Daniel Trundle a Maryland Planter around 1813. Daniel Trundle served on Levy Courts, County Commissions and the State Legislature for ten years. The site posesses a beautiful view overlooking the Potomac River, C&O canal.
People report that Colonel Baker, Senator from Oregon and commander of the group of Union soldiers stationed nearby is still haunting the house and the nearby area along with ghosts of his fallen troops. BRIEF: He's little and he's mischievous SUMMARY: This shop on Main Street is haunted by the ghost a young boy. The ghost once pushed the owner down the stairs. The owner of the shop had a woman exorcise the shop. The young ghost was asked to leave and the shop owner has not had a problem since. BRIEF: Ghostly apparitions of all sorts haunt this area. SUMMARY: In the park named for him, people have reported seeing the ghost of Stephen Decatur dressed in his uniform. This is unusual because he did not actually live there. |
