BRIEF: Jump! SUMMARY: This mansion is haunted by a ghostly woman. The sound of a woman's "death cry" is heard in this old mansion. The ghost is reportedly that of a young slave girl who jumped to her death from the attic window to escape her master. The young girl is known as Tom's Daughter. She jumped from the window to escape sexual advances from her master. Her erie screams are still heard today. BRIEF: Statue of Benjamin Rush, M.D. SUMMARY: The statue of Benjamin Rush, M.D. (1745-1813) is located at the grounds of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery , across from the entrance to the old Observatory building. The larger-than-life, bronze statue honors the Philadelphia physician, medical educator and the signer of the Declaration of Independence. BRIEF: This old house. SUMMARY: The house is located off of Crain Highway, and that why it was called the Crain House. The house is a historical house that goes back to the days when Glen Burnie has big furnaces that we were used in manufacturing.
The house has been abandon for many years. The house is very old from the 1800's and dates back to the Civil War era. The house was once a beautiful farmhouse. The house is on the Maryland Historic Properties listing, and was listed in the 1970's. The house is named after a former school teacher who once lived in the house. BRIEF: An uncommon haunting of a gravestone SUMMARY: The ghost of a woman by the name of Lonell has been seen wandering the Cemetery during dusk hours. Her manifestation is mostly as the shape of a blue sphere, but she sometimes materializes into recognizable form. There have been several reports over the years.
Named for the gravestone she hovers near and regards, her real name may have been different if her ghost is frequenting Lonell's grave. |
