EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. SUMMARY: Many apparitions have been witnessed wandering through this building which was used as a hospital during the battle of Gettysburg. BRIEF: Underground Railroad and other history have left spirits behind SUMMARY: The Belmont House was built in 1738. It sits on 82 acres of land. The mansion was built by Caleb Dorsey but is now owned by the American Chemical Society.
The "Belmont Conference" is an old estate that has been converted into a conference center. Workers at the conference center have heard the sounds of horses race up the long driveway; then, a knock is often heard at the front door. But, no one is ever there. BRIEF: The ghost of a young man haunts the hill at Rabbit's Ferry. SUMMARY: The legends say that a young man, a fiddler, decided to scare away a rival who was trying to take his girl. He climbed a very tall tree and made frightening noises with his fiddle. His plan worked and the rival suitor ran away. When the fiddler began to climb down he fell from some height, broke his neck and died. That hill, some say, is still haunted by the fiddler. The sounds of a screeching fiddle can be sometimes heard. BRIEF: Haunted Hotel in Old Chicago SUMMARY: The Congress hotel in Chicago was built in 1893 in the time of cobbled streets, gaslights and horse drawn carrages. Formerly called the Auditorium Annex, it was built for visitors to the Worlds Columbian Exposition. It was originally an annex to the Auditorium Hotel across the street and boasted a underground marble passageway called the 'Peacock Alley'. Several US Presidents have stayed at the Congress, including Grover Cleveland, William McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, Willam Taft, Woodrow Wilson, Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Franklin Roosevelt. The hotel is know to have many spirits roaming it's hallways and rooms.
