BRIEF: Ghostly sightings and sounds mark this place of history.

SUMMARY: Located overlooking the Antietam battlefield is the Phillip Pry House, which is a brick farmhouse. The farmhouse was commandeered by Union General George McClellan. He used it as his headquarters during the battle. General Israel B. Richardson received wounds in this battle, which he would die from 6 months later. The house is now owned by the National Park Service and closed to visitors.

BRIEF: Mid-19th Century Estate possibly part of Underground Railroad

SUMMARY: Bell Manor is a lovely an mid-late 19th Century colonial revival mansion which is located near Conowingo, MD. In the 70's the Girl Scouts began using it as a summer camp. Bell Manor is haunted by a ghostly woman. A Girl Scout camp is built on the Bell Plantation, which was part of the Underground Railroad. There is a deep sub-basement where the story goes that slaves died hiding from the Southerners.

BRIEF: Two neighboring businesses share haunted history

SUMMARY: A cook named Lysa worked as a bartender at the club for over six years. One afternoon when the club was closed around 4:00 pm she was getting things ready for the evening. She looked up the stairs and saw a small older man wearing black trousers and a white shirt standing at the top of the stairs looking down at her. The man vanished as she was watching him. She ran down the stairs to the basement and demanded, "Is there a ghost here.?"

C & O Towpath at Dam 4

BRIEF: C & O path at Dam 4 WVSGH experienced phenomenon that is paranormal in nature!

SUMMARY: West Virginia Society of Ghost Hunters investigated the Dam 4 Towpath on 12-17-05. A picture was taken of an entity that was neither a Paranormal Investigator nor a "drifter" on the Towpath! The entire C & O Canal Towpath is part of the National Park Service.
