BRIEF: This ghost perhaps exists just beyond the spotlight. SUMMARY: The hotel is almost one hundred years old. The hotel is now being converted into upscale apartments. [While it's sad to see things change sometimes, it's always much worse to see them go.]
The hotel was built in 1903 by a Confederate soldier named James Lawrence Kernan. At first, the place was called Hotel Kernan, for obvious reason. In the 1930's, the name was changed. BRIEF: A workers death left something behind SUMMARY: A worker who fell to his death left behind a presence. Strange writings on chalkboards, activity long after hours, and phantom footsteps are said to haunt this school. SUMMARY: Weston, West Virginia is home to the Weston State Hospital. Weston State Hospital, formerly known as the Trans-Allegheny Asylum for the Insane, stands vacant but proud along the banks of the West Fork of the Monongahela River in Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. The Whistling Oyster is a bar located in Fells Point and it is known to be haunted by an unknown ghost. Employees have heard footsteps and have seen shadowy images. BRIEF: Dark bridge, even in sunlight. SUMMARY: There is a covered bridge near Lewistown that spanned the Fishing Creek. The river beneath the bridge is a spot that local kids used as a swimming hole. A young boy drowned in the river in 1872 when he was 17 years old. People reported that his ghost haunts the bridge. |
